Softball Preview: Dodd City Hornets vs. Ector Eagles        
        
		
            The Dodd City Hornets are taking a road trip to  challenge the Ector Eagles  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. Dodd City will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  contest than the last.
Dodd City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Thursday. They put the hurt on Knox City with a sharp  14-0 victory. The Hornets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Kelsey Hewett was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only two  hits while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. Hewett was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in May of 2024.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Ralyn Daniel, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with six  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double. Those  six  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Taylor Voss also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Dodd City  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 5.4  hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.2.
 Meanwhile, Ector entered their tilt with Munday on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   7-6 W against the Moguls.
 Dodd City's record is now 4-14. As for Ector, their record now sits at 9-11.
