Basketball Game Preview: Waverly Warriors vs. DeWitt Panthers

Waverly hasn't had much luck against DeWitt recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Waverly Warriors will welcome the DeWitt Panthers at 6:00 p.m.

Waverly is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 61-40 to St. Johns. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Redwings are ranked 74th).

Meanwhile, DeWitt entered their tilt with Byron Center on Tuesday with 16 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 17. They strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 44-30.

Waverly now has a losing record of 9-10. As for DeWitt, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
