Softball Recap: Flagler Palm Coast Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs didn't have quite enough to beat the Atlantic Coast Stingrays and fell 4-3.

Ashleigh Pigeon was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Pigeon wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Skylar Ludovici, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Flagler Palm Coast's record now sits at 0-2. As for Atlantic Coast, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Flagler Palm Coast wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-2 win against St. Augustine on the 25th. As for Atlantic Coast, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Fletcher on the 24th.
