Recap: Munroe Bobcats vs. Lincoln Trojans
The Munroe Bobcats lost against the Lincoln Trojans last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Munroe took a 67-51 bruising from Lincoln. While losing is never fun, Munroe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Lincoln is ranked 92nd).
Munroe lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Traniha Jackson, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mya Mccullar, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Lincoln's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamia Brown, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. Brown is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. Jamesia Smith was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals.
Munroe has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Lincoln, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3.
Munroe will take on Maclay at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to take on Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Columbia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
