Softball Recap: Gompers Comes Up Short

If Gompers was feeling good fresh off their 12-3 takedown of Randolph Campus on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Mott Haven Mavericks by a score of 18-17 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (12), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Gompers has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Mott Haven, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-9 record.

Gompers has already played their next matchup, a 25-19 loss against Math Science & Engineering on the 27th. As for Mott Haven, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 23-13 defeat against East Harlem on the 27th.
