Melissa (Texas) is one home run away from the single-season national record and has a chance to break it in the UIL Class 5A Division 1 regional semifinals tonight against
Midlothian on the
NFHS Network.
The Cardinals have hit 104 home runs this season and won all 32 of their games. The national record of 105 bombs was set by
North DeSoto (Stonewall, La.) over 39 games in 2022.
Florida commit
Kennedy Bradley leads Melissa with 23 home runs, including two in the Cardinals' second-round playoff win last week.
Sophomores
Finlee Williams (16) and
Hutton Adrian (15) have combined for 31 home runs this year. Senior Texas pledge
Caigan Crabtree has hit 15 dingers.
