Jefferson City extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Ella Showers. The Jays blew past the Southern Boone Eagles 3-0 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Showers, who had 21 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Jefferson City not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Southern Boone between 13 and 16 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-15.

Jefferson City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alayna Maloney led the charge by getting seven digs and two aces.

Despite the loss, Southern Boone saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kindle Himes had 13 digs.

Jefferson City's win bumped their record up to 15-8-1. As for Southern Boone, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16-1.

Jefferson City has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Rock Bridge on the 8th. As for Southern Boone, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Mexico on the 9th.
