Recap: Jewish Culture Lions vs. Franklin Academy Panthers
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Jewish Culture Lions ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They secured a 63-58 W over Franklin Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Shilo Kahan, who scored 19 points along with five steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Ben Lasry, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Franklin Academy still got an impressive performance from Robert Guishard, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Guishard has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Goddette, who scored 12 points.
The win (which was Jewish Culture's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Franklin Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3.
Jewish Culture won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Greater Miami Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 10th. As for Franklin Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Somerset Academy Central Miramar at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Somerset Academy Central Miramar focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Monday.
