Softball Game Preview: Garland Owls vs. Naaman Forest Rangers

Garland is 9-1 against Naaman Forest since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Garland Owls will host the Naaman Forest Rangers at 6:30 p.m. Garland's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Naaman Forest's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Garland is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let South Garland get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Tuesday. The Owls haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Natalie Arent made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, Karmen Sanders and Sinijay Maxey did most of the damage at the plate: Sanders went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Maxey scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2. Those four stolen bases gave Maxey a new career-high. Payton Dean was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Naaman Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 11-3 to Grand Prairie.

Naaman Forest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arianna Meza, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Naaman Forest's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Garland, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2-1.

Everything went Garland's way against Naaman Forest when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Garland made off with a 20-0 win. Does Garland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Naaman Forest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
