Hopewell-Loudon extended their winning streak to six on Friday, bumping them up to 6-0. They claimed a resounding 34-7 win over the Lakota Raiders. The result was nothing new for the Chieftains, who have now won four matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.

As for Lakota, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 486th, while Hopewell-Loudon is ranked 111th).

When it comes to explaining why Lakota lost, don't look at Aj Gosche. Despite the final result, he picked up 52 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 71 yards. Gosche got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 76 yards.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hopewell-Loudon will challenge rival Margaretta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Chieftains 5.8, the Polar Bears 7) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lakota is set to square off against their familiar foe Willard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
