Basketball Recap: Poly's Run of 17 Straight Wins Now Over

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Poly couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 65-56 to the Granada Hills Charter Highlanders on Saturday. The Parrots' loss signaled the end of their 17-game winning streak.

Defeat or not, Poly got some senior leadership from JD Wyatt and Quian Khawaja. Wyatt posted 28 points, while Khawaja put up 20 points. The game was Wyatt's 41st in a row with at least 16 points.

Poly's loss dropped their record down to 25-10. As for Granada Hills Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-14 record this season.

Poly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Granada Hills Charter, they are taking a road trip to take on Fresno Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fresno Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Granada Hills Charter likes a good challenge.
