Football Game Preview: Smithsburg Leopards vs. Boonsboro Warriors

Smithsburg hasn't had much luck against Boonsboro recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Leopards will venture away from home to square off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m.

Smithsburg is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Fort Hill on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Leopards took a blow against the Sentinels, falling 56-6. The Leopards were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Boonsboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against North Hagerstown by a score of 35-26 on Friday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Hubs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Smithsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Boonsboro, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Smithsburg couldn't quite get it done against Boonsboro in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 as they fell 10-0. Can the Leopards avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
