Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Franklin Quakers

For the second straight game, Roosevelt will face off against Franklin. The Roughriders will head out to challenge the Quakers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Friday, Roosevelt earned a 6-3 victory over Franklin.

Dean Fillinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Mitch Geiger was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Roosevelt is 4-1 when Geiger posts two or more runs, but 2-17 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Maximus Nebel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Franklin dropped their record down to 1-23 with the defeat, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Roosevelt, their win bumped their record up to 6-18.
