Basketball Recap: Damonte Ranch Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mcqueen

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Damonte Ranch). They were the clear victor by an 81-61 margin over the McQueen Lancers on Wednesday. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Damonte Ranch to victory were Drew Dodson and Jeriah Macias. Dodson went 9 of 14 en route to 25 points and seven rebounds, while Macias posted 24 points along with seven assists and five boards. The contest was Dodson's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Nash, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 14 points.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abram Carpenter, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alex Grush, who put up 12 points.

The victory was the third in a row for Damonte Ranch, bringing their record for this year to 8-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.3 points. As for McQueen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Damonte Ranch will venture away from home to take on Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglas knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Damonte Ranch likes a good challenge. As for McQueen, they will host Spanish Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Spanish Springs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something McQueen surely won't give up without a fight.
