Basketball Recap: Guadalupe Centers Comes Up Short

Guadalupe Centers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 51-29 to the Union Star Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Aztecs of the 47-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.

Despite the loss, Guadalupe Centers still got an impressive performance from Luis Popoca, who posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Popoca continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Luis Recalde was another key player, putting up two points along with five assists and four steals.

Guadalupe Centers' defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Union Star, their victory bumped their record up to 4-19.

Guadalupe Centers does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Union Star has already played their next match (against King City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
