Football Recap: Pace Comes Up Short

Pace and Porter pushed the score to 47-19 the last time they played Porter, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Vikings fell 7-0 to the Cowboys. The game marked the first time this year in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

Isaac Solis threw for 130 yards on ten of 20 attempts. Anthony Gonzalez was his top target, picking up 92 receiving yards. On the ground, Damian Majano rushed for 61 yards.

Pace dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Porter, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pace is set to challenge their familiar foe Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Porter will face off against rival Edcouch-Elsa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
