Baseball Recap: Union City's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Union City started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against St. Benedict's Prep. They fell just short of the Gray Bees by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. The loss was the Soaring Eagles' first of the season.

Union City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Willy Presume, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Guillermo Soto was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Having lost for the first time this season, Union City fell to 3-1. As for St. Benedict's Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Union City will look to defend their home field on Monday against Memorial at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Soaring Eagles 1.5, the Tigers 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for St. Benedict's Prep, they will venture away from home to take on Nutley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
