Soccer Recap: Waverly Takes a Loss

Waverly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Portland Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Waverly of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 1-13-1. As for Portland, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 3-6 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Waverly will face off against rival East Lansing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Portland is set to square off against their familiar foe Eaton Rapids at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Portland their first taste of in-conference action this season.
