Volleyball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Tigers vs. Summertown Eagles
After flying high against Perry County on Tuesday, Mt. Pleasant came back down to earth. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Summertown Eagles on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.
The match finished with set scores of 25-2, 25-18, 25-6.
Leading Summertown to victory were Amelia Emerson and Zoei Bonner. Emerson had ten kills and nine aces, while Bonner had six digs and two aces. Emerson has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 34 times she's played.
Mt. Pleasant's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Summertown, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 30-7.
Coming up, Mt. Pleasant will face off against Hampshire at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Summertown, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Columbia Academy on the 26th.
