Preview: Lakota Tech Tatanka vs. Little Wound Mustangs

Lakota Tech has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Little Wound Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lakota Tech's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.

Lakota Tech pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 77-65 to Hot Springs.

The losing side was boosted by Gilbert White Jr., who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Cass, who scored 13 points.

Meanwhile, even though Wakpala scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Little Wound still came out on top. Little Wound enjoyed a cozy 76-62 victory over Wakpala.

Lakota Tech bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Little Wound, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Everything went Lakota Tech's way against Little Wound in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Lakota Tech made off with a 69-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakota Tech since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
