Basketball Recap: Brooke Paalhar's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kearney over Smithville

Kearney lost against Smithville back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kearney Bulldogs fell 51-44 to the Smithville Warriors.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brooke Paalhar, who posted 12 points and eight assists. Another player making a difference was Maggie Lakin, who made all 6 shots she took to post 12 points.

Kearney's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Smithville, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
