Baseball Recap: East Lake Victorious

East Lake had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Gaither Cowboys by a score of 7-4 on Saturday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 4-3 victory on Thursday.

Eli Millian was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Eli Rolon looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Sheffield, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for East Lake and bumps their season record up to 21-8. As for Gaither, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-10 record this season.

As of now, neither East Lake nor Gaither have any future games scheduled.
