Basketball Recap: Concord Victorious + How To Watch

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Concord ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They secured a 59-55 W over the Cox Mill Chargers. For the Spiders, this counts as revenge for the 83-63 win the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Concord had a senior duo take command as Kyzen Coleman dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds and Jayden Beyan shot 50% from the field to rack up 17 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawson Childress, who posted six points.

Concord smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Cox Mill lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Logan Massenburg, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Cameron Thomas, who had nine points.

Concord's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Cox Mill, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
