Softball Preview: Northern Burlington Greyhounds vs. Allentown Redbirds

The Northern Burlington Greyhounds will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Allentown Redbirds at 6:30 p.m. Northern Burlington is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

On Saturday, Northern Burlington needed a bit of extra time to put away Seneca. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Golden Eagles 6-4. Six seems to be a good number for Northern Burlington as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Emily Shiner spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances.
