Softball Recap: Apple Springs Eagles vs. Neches Tigers
Apple Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 20-16 to the Neches Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent loss being a 16-3 defeat last Friday.

Lauren Lankford was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Brister, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.
Apple Springs' loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Neches, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Apple Springs will host Alto at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Neches, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wells at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
