Soccer Recap: Garner Comes Up Short

Garner lost against Sanderson back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Garner lost 5-1 to Sanderson. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Mallory Sherman was handed one for Garner, while Sanderson got theirs courtesy of Ana Berens.

Garner's goal came courtesy of Lily Ridge, who's now up to four this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Garner and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Sanderson, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garner will venture away from home to face off against Clayton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sanderson, they will head out to challenge Athens Drive at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
