Softball Recap: Spring Mills Has No Trouble Against Musselman

Spring Mills made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Musselman, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Spring Mills put the hurt on Musselman with a sharp 11-1 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won three matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Claire Wetzel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Spring Mills let Alexis Wagner and Sabrina Nutter run wild. Wagner scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Nutter went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Wagner also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Paige Houghton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
