Softball Recap: Independence's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Independence suffered their biggest loss since May 14, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 13-3 to the Cranberry Area Berries. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Patriots' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Independence saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Lilly, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Independence's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3. As for Cranberry Area, their record is now 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independence will venture away from home to face off against James Monroe at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cranberry Area, they will head out to square off against Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
