Baseball Recap: Laguna Beach Comes Up Short

Laguna Beach came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Irvine Vaqueros by a score of 8-6 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vaqueros this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 on Wednesday.

Gabe Paz made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was his first of the season. Otis Boultinghouse was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Laguna Beach and nudges their season record down to 16-10. As for Irvine, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-12.

Looking ahead, Laguna Beach will challenge La Serna at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Irvine, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orange at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
