Basketball Recap: Drake/Anamoose Takes a Loss

Drake/Anamoose lost against Westhope/Newburg back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Drake/Anamoose Raiders took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westhope/Newburg Sioux.

Westhope/Newburg found their leader in sophomore Macy Bryans, who almost dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists. Bryans' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Ashley Tabarez was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Drake/Anamoose's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Westhope/Newburg, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-12 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Drake/Anamoose won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Surrey at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Westhope/Newburg, they are taking a road trip to square off against North Shore at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
