Basketball Recap: Potter's House Christian Comes Up Short

Potter's House Christian lost against Downey Christian last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Potter's House Christian Lions took a 71-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Downey Christian Patriots. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Downey Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maylon Marte out in front who went 11-for-16 to rack up 25 points and six boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Marte has scored at least a third of Downey Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Olajuwon, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds.

Potter's House Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Downey Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Potter's House Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Downey Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against Academy of Central Florida National at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
