Softball Game Preview: Franklin Knights vs. Rocky Grove Orioles

The Franklin Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Rocky Grove Orioles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Grove took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Franklin, who comes in off a win.

Franklin came out on top against Oil City on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Knights put the hurt on the Oilers with a sharp 14-4 victory. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Oilers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Rocky Grove was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cambridge Springs. The loss continues a trend for the Orioles in their meetings with the Devils: they've now lost seven in a row.

Rocky Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.

Franklin took their win against Rocky Grove in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
