Basketball Game Preview: Clinton Central Bulldogs vs. Carroll Cougars

Clinton Central is 0-10 against Carroll since February of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Clinton Central Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Carroll Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Clinton Central is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Friday. They were beaten by Clinton Prairie 69-37. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Gophers are ranked 113th).

Meanwhile, Carroll fought the good fight in their overtime match against Northwestern on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 52-50. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Clinton Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Carroll, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3.

Clinton Central opened the new year with a less-than-successful 58-45 loss to Carroll. Can Clinton Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
