Baseball Recap: May River Continues Home Dominance on Friday

While May River's win against Hilton Head Island wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Sharks narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Seahawks 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Seahawks: they've now won five in a row.

May River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaret 'Talon' Putnam, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Putnam has posted since back in March.

May River pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Hilton Head Island, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.
