Basketball Recap: Cloudcroft Comes Up Short

Cloudcroft was the 51-45 winner over Gateway Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Cloudcroft Bears fell 53-40 to the Gateway Christian Warriors on Monday. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gateway Christian found their leader in sophomore Grady Munson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The match was Munson's third in a row with at least ten points. Noah Gomez was another key player, putting up seven points.

Cloudcroft now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Gateway Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Cloudcroft will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carrizozo at 5:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Gateway Christian will take on Tatum in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
