Soccer Recap: Golden Valley Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Golden Valley can now relate to. They lost 5-1 to the Los Amigos Lobos on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 527th, while the Lobos are ranked 114th).

Golden Valley's goal came courtesy of Anthony Padilla, who's now up to seven this season.

Golden Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Los Amigos, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Golden Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Los Amigos, they will challenge Norwalk at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
