Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Sandy Creek's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Sandy Creek won the last time they faced New York Mills and things went their way on Saturday too. The Sandy Creek Comets walked away with a 62-55 win over the New York Mills Marauders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Comets.

Several Marauders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was David Goodfriend, who posted 19 points. Goodfriend's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aiden Miller, who earned 14 points.

Sandy Creek is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for New York Mills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Sandy Creek will face off against Beaver River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New York Mills, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 73-58 victory against Remsen on the 27th.
