Basketball Game Preview: South Central Falcons vs. D.H. Conley Vikings

The South Central Falcons will head out to square off against the D.H. Conley Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in South Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games.

South Central can't be too worried about heading out to take on D.H. Conley: they just beat Jacksonville at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. South Central put the hurt on Jacksonville with a sharp 82-56 win on Tuesday. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, everything went D.H. Conley's way against New Bern on Tuesday as D.H. Conley made off with a 55-29 victory. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Bears are ranked 425th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Central better keep an eye on Britni Silver. She was instrumental in D.H. Conley's win, going 10-for-15 to rack up 23 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Silver a new career-high in shooting accuracy (67%). Another player making a difference was Charlazha Wilson, who posted 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

D.H. Conley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive contests.

South Central pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.1 points. As for D.H. Conley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
