Football Game Preview: West Fork Gators vs. Splendora Wildcats + How To Watch

The West Fork Gators will face off against the Splendora Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, West Fork lost to Huntsville on the road by a 38-21 margin. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while the Hornets are ranked 214th).

Although West Fork took the loss, they still got scores from Kylin Patin, Jailen Jones, and Smith Rollins.

Meanwhile, Splendora took a blow against Nederland on Friday, falling 56-6. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Fork will have to keep a close watch on Tj Burch and Brayden Hinton, a pair of players who had a big impact on Splendora's prior game. Burch picked up 84 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Hinton threw for 99 yards and one TD.

Splendora's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for West Fork, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Thursday's contest might be decided on the ground. West Fork has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 191.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Splendora struggles in that department as they've been averaging 151.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

West Fork skirted past Splendora 24-21 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
