Baseball Recap: Wellington's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Wellington unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 8-3 to the Seminole Ridge Hawks. The Wolverines were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hawks earlier this season, when they won 4-1.

Wellington got a good showing from Alexis Rojas, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Rojas gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February.

At the plate, Wellington saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Foster Solomon, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Wellington's record is now 15-8. As for Seminole Ridge, they moved to 12-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellington will welcome Park Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cobras will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight. As for Seminole Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dwyer at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
