Baseball Recap: Cienega Comes Up Short

The matchup between Cienega and Salpointe Catholic on Tuesday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Cienega Bobcats came up short against the Salpointe Catholic Lancers, falling 16-5. The Bobcats just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Cienega saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JAKE RIESGO, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. PARKER SCHAGEL was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Cienega's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Cienega will challenge Catalina Foothills at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Catalina Foothills knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Cienega likes a good challenge. As for Salpointe Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against Arcadia at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arcadia has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something Salpointe Catholic will no doubt try to take advantage of.
