Softball Recap: Blue Ridge's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Blue Ridge had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-11 W against the Forest City Foresters. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since April 9th.

Hailey Carpenetti made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and three RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailey Champang, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Blue Ridge's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Forest City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.

Blue Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Forest City has already played their next matchup (against Carbondale Area), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
