Volleyball Recap: Mira Costa Takes a Loss

Mira Costa was the 2-0 winner over 'Iolani when they last played one another back in August of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-1 on Friday. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 25-21 in the first set.

Mira Costa started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 15-9.

Their offense was headlined by Cayenne Ceman and Sofia Sala, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Reese Stinger and her 15 assists.

Mira Costa's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for 'Iolani, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Mira Costa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Cornerstone Christian on the 15th. As for 'Iolani, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Byron Nelson on the 15th.
