Volleyball Recap: Concordia Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Piper Sutherland and Addie Pickett

Concordia Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Apple Valley Eagles. The Beacons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Concordia Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Apple Valley's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Concordia Academy had strong showings from Addie Pickett, who had 12 digs, and Piper Sutherland, who had 14 assists.

Concordia Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Apple Valley, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 13-5 record.

Coming up, Concordia Academy will welcome St. Croix Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Apple Valley, they will head out to face off against Prior Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
