Preview: Riverside Indian Braves vs. Classen SAS Comets

Riverside Indian is 0-4 against Classen SAS since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Riverside Indian Braves will head out on the road to challenge the Classen SAS Comets at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Riverside Indian sitting on 12 straight victories and Classen SAS on eight.

Riverside Indian stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They breezed by Frederick on the road to the tune of 71-19. Given Riverside Indian's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Frederick is ranked 367th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Classen SAS's strategy against Hoops for Christ on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Classen SAS blew Hoops for Christ out of the water with a 69-22 final score. Classen SAS pushed the score to 52-13 by the end of the third, a deficit Hoops for Christ had no chance of recovering from.

Classen SAS found their leader in underclassman Kamyiah Morgan, who scored 16 points along with eight steals. Makiya Moore was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.

Riverside Indian's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Classen SAS, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Riverside Indian was dealt a bruising 71-33 defeat at the hands of Classen SAS when the teams last played back in November of 2018. Can Riverside Indian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
