Edinburg North made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cornerstone Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the Edinburg North Cougars' way against the Cornerstone Christian Warriors on Saturday as the Edinburg North Cougars made off with a 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Destiny Pulido, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Leah Nunez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

The win (which was Edinburg North's third in a row) raised their record to 13-4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cornerstone Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Edinburg North will square off against Raymondville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edinburg North's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Raymondville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Cornerstone Christian has already played their next game (against Hebbronville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
