Baseball Recap: Exeter Township Extends Winning Streak to Six

Exeter Township entered their tilt with Daniel Boone on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Blazers with a sharp 12-1 victory. Considering the Eagles have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Exeter Township got a great performance from Gavin Miller as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Exeter Township let Jake Hafer and Carter Redding run wild. Hafer went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Redding scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Redding has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Woram, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Exeter Township pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Daniel Boone, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Exeter Township will host Wilson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Daniel Boone, they are taking a road trip to face off against Conrad Weiser at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
