Volleyball Recap: Mountain View's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Mountain View lost against Perry back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Toros fell 3-1 to the Pumas. While the Toros didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pumas 25-15 in the first set.

Mountain View started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-14.

Their offense was headlined by Ava Kounkel and Emma Freeman, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Annie Tingey and her 16 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Nikolina Djordjevich, each putting up three.

Braeley Norton was nothing short of spectacular for Perry: she had 27 digs and six assists. Those six assists gave Norton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kate Johnson, who had four digs and three aces.

Mountain View's loss ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-12. As for Perry, their win bumped their record up to 23-17.

Mountain View has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Mesa on the 29th. As for Perry, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Chandler on the 28th.
