Softball Recap: Marquette Takes a Loss

Marquette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Clare Pioneers, falling 15-1. If the Sentinels were looking for revenge after losing 18-1 to the Pioneers when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Marquette saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eva Dewitt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Marquette's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Clare, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-1.

Coming up, Marquette will host Escanaba at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Clare, they will take on Pinconning at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
