Basketball Recap: Apollo Takes a Loss

Apollo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Campbellsville Eagles, falling 76-35. While losing is never fun, Apollo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Campbellsville is ranked 92nd).

Apollo's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lashay Vera, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, and Mattingly Taylor, who posted eight points and ten rebounds. Those eight points gave Taylor a new career-high.

Apollo's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Campbellsville, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Apollo will take on Ohio County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Campbellsville, they will face off against North Hardin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
